St Agnes, Cornwall

St Agnes is a picturesque village on the north coast of Cornwall. Steeped in mining history, the village still retains a traditional friendly Cornish atmosphere. St Agnes offers a variety of year-round activities with beautiful scenic coastline, fantastic beaches, walks, arts and craft shops and a strong mining heritage. The area is dotted with the evocative remains of brick engine houses and slim chimney stacks of abandoned mines, which have been given UNESCO World Heritage status for their historical importance.

This is the perfect place for abandoning your car and exploring on foot. The beautiful beach at Chapel Porth is on your doorstep and there are stunning cliff top walks less than a mile away. The South West Coast path passes close by; stand on the cliff at St Agnes Head with the sea crashing onto the rocks below, and see the harsh conditions where early Cornishmen searched for tin.

You'll also be well placed to visit the whole of Cornwall. The County is one of the UK's most popular tourist destinations, with no shortage of things to do whatever the weather or time of year. With such easy access to the A30, attractions such as the Eden Project, Land’s End, Padstow and St Ives are close at hand. Rugged cliffs, sandy beaches and charming fishing villages dot the never ending coastline.

Or combine a visit to Truro’s stunning cathedral with a bit of shopping therapy. There are numerous pubs, traditional and contemporary, and fine restaurants too. It will be a trip to remember.
